Wow, what a year 2013 was. I accomplished a lot of things. Mostly travel and school related. I traveld to 10 countries last year. But travel isn't what I'm going to talk about this post. Part of my goals while in Germany are to amass a beautiful antique collection. I've been to quite a few antique shops and flea markets in 2013, but I have to admit that I am very picky. I don't like to buy just anything. Here is a compilation of the best stuff that I have found so far with #1 being my favorite.
7) Assortment of Bavarian Tea Cups
6) Naumann Sewing Machine
This was my first antique purchase when I moved to Germany. Read about it here.
5) Bavarian Painted Wooden Box
I just really like this wool blanket that I picked up from Belgium, that the guy wasn't even meaning to sell. I liked it so much I used it in a photo shoot :) Read about it here.
3) Vintage Gold Painted Mirror
I may have a slight mirror obsession. Read on here.
2) Crystal Chandelier
Scored this jewel in my tiny little German town. Read here.
1) Italian Curio Cabinet
And my favorite score of 2013 was this Italian Curio Cabinet which was my biggest purchase. Read more here.
I admit that with all of the traveling I've been doing, I have slowed down with my flea hunts and purchases. But there are plenty of items on my list before I leave Germany. I'm excited to get back to the hunt in 2014. Here are some of the items still on my list: secretary desk, settee, french chair, paintings, a dress form, perfume bottle, and French flour containers. Some of the splurges I'd love to get in 2014 are: A Mora clock (or replica), French bedframe, and armoire. Let's see if I can make it happen.
What are your flea market/antique wishes for 2014?

ReplyDeleteGorgeous finds! My sister just moved back home from living in Berlin for 5 years. Sadly, she isn't interested in antiques or flea market finds at all. I keep telling her that she could have come home with mountains of lovely treasures.
ReplyDeleteWhat BEAUTIFUL finds!! Your house must look like a fairytale, for certain.
ReplyDeleteBrittany, I love looking at your finds. Not only to you get to live in Europe, you get to visit antique shops and flea markets. Keep up the great work! Ann Marie @ Iris Abbey
